Thursday, September 11, 2025 - Six people abducted by bandits were rescued after an attack on Lamuntani village in Goran Dansaka ward, Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to a post shared on Thursday by security analyst
Zagazola Makama, the incident happened on Wednesday around 1:20 a.m. when
bandits stormed the village.
Makama revealed that the bandits were confronted by police,
military personnel, and local vigilantes, who engaged them in a gun battle,
forcing the attackers to flee into the bush.
The rescued victims, who were unharmed, include Aisha
Rilwanu, 12; Zainab Mansir, 15; Munnir Sani, 19; Salamatu Umar, 19; Asmau Sani,
10; and Jamila Nasiru, 21.
However, while fleeing, the bandits reportedly attacked
nearby Santan Kargo village, shooting three people; Yusuf Yushau, 30; Ismail
Abubakar, 21; and Abdulmumin Sani who were rushed to Malumfashi General
Hospital for treatment.
Security forces are still searching for two missing victims
as they intensify operations in the area.
