Tuesday, September 30, 2025 - Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have arrested five suspected bandits, who have been on the command’s wanted list and also recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition in Nasarawa State.
CP Saka Ajao Adewale, who disclosed this to newsmen at the
command’s headquarters in Abuja on Monday, said the wanted suspects were
tracked down and arrested during an operation led by the Scorpion Squad that
took place between September 20 and 28, 2025.
He said the suspects, whose names he gave as Abdullahi
Garba, aka Alhaji Ore; Yusuf Inuwa, aka Alhaji Dabunda; David Kaika, aka Baba;
Baba Imaji; and Nasiru Ibrahim, aka Pepper, are responsible for several
kidnappings in the North Central, North West, and North East regions of the
country.
According to him, the arrested suspects have been on the
wanted list of the Police Command and other security agencies.
He said exhibits recovered from the suspects included 2,186
rounds of live 7.62 x 39mm AK-47 ammunition, 2 AK-47 rifles with obliterated
serial numbers, one locally fabricated pistol with two live cartridges, and
five operational motorcycles, which were used by the suspects.
“And all the suspects have confessed to their crimes and
will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations. While efforts are
ongoing to track and arrest their other gang members who are currently at
large,” he said.
The police commissioner, while commending the bravery and
gallantry of the officers, reassured the public of his continued efforts to rid
the FCT and its environs of crime and criminality.
