Monday, August 25, 2025 - At least one person was killed and another injured following a mob attack at Kunini Market in Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State.
According to Zagzola Makama, the incident occurred around
2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Reports from the Officer-in-Charge of the Kunini outpost
confirmed that two individuals were assaulted by a mob in the busy market.
“One of the victims was confirmed dead, while the other was
rushed to the hospital for medical attention,” the source said.
Security operatives from Lau Division were swiftly deployed
to the scene to restore order and prevent further violence.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the
circumstances that led to the mob action and to identify those involved.
