Tuesday, August 19, 2025 - Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has recalled former Commissioner for Information, Mr Taiwo Olatunbosun back to the State Executive Council.
This comes barely one week after the governor dissolved his
cabinet.
This is contained in a statement by the Chief Press
Secretary to the Governor, Mr Yinka Oyebode, on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti.
The recall letter signed by the Secretary to the State
Government, SSG, Prof. Habaibat Adubiaro, dated August 18, said that
Olatunbosun would continue as commissioner for information.
The SSG stated that the recall is with immediate effect.
Oyebanji, in a major shakeup, dissolved the state executive
council on August 11, directing commissioners and special advisers to hand over
to permanent secretaries or the most senior civil servants in their ministries,
departments and agencies.
It will be recalled that at the time of the dissolution, six
commissioners, including Finance, Works and Human Capital Development, were
retained to ensure continuity in critical sectors of government.
At the dissolution, Governor Oyebanji had explained that the
decision was aimed at injecting fresh energy into governance, while also
reaffirming his commitment to his “shared prosperity” agenda.
