Friday, August 8, 2025 - A former senator who represented Niger North Senatorial District between 2011 to 2015, Ibrahim Musa, has d!ed.
The Secretary to the Niger state government,Abubakar Usman,
announced the death in a statement released today August 7.
Usman said the former lawmaker d!ed in Abuja after a brief
illness.
“Senator
Ibrahim died today (Thursday) in Abuja after a brief illness, leaving behind a
legacy of dedicated service to his people and the nation at large.
Senator
Ibrahim Musa’s passing is a great loss not only to Kontagora Emirate but to the
entire State and the nation. We pray that Almighty Allah grants him eternal
rest and gives his family, the Emirate and all who mourn him the fortitude to
bear this irreplaceable loss.”
He also conveyed the government’s condolences to the
deceased’s family and constituents, describing the loss as a painful one for
the state.
A legal practitioner, late Senator Musa was elected into the
Nigerian Senate in 2011 under the platform of the defunct Congress for
Progressives Change (CPC). He secured 131,872 votes to defeat the
then-incumbent senator, Nuhu Aliyu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who
polled 83,778 votes.
