Friday, August 15, 2025 - Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have k!lled three people and injured four others in Gwon-Rim village in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
It was gathered that the attack occurred on Wednesday
morning, August 13, 2025 when the heavily armed gunmen, numbering over 50,
invaded the village and began shooting sporadically.
The Executive Chairman of Riyom Local Government Area, Hon.
Sati Bature Shuwa, for an on-the-spot assessment following the attack.
Shuwa condemned the incident in its entirety, describing it
as unacceptable.
He called for calm among residents and directed security
agencies to track down the perpetrators and ensure their arrest.
He assured the community of his administration’s unwavering
commitment to the protection of lives and property.
The Chairman also visited the hospital to commiserate with
and support those receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the attack.
