Thursday, July 17, 2025 - American singer Dave Navarro is suing Perry Farrell for assault and battery, with fellow Jane’s Addiction members Eric Avery and Stephen Perkins joining the lawsuit seeking millions in damages.
The legal action stems from an onstage altercation in
September 2024 during a North American tour, which the band claims led to the
cancellation of 15 shows and delayed their planned album release.
Video obtained by TMZ shows Farrell and Navarro confronting
each other and shoving during a performance on September 13, 2024. Navarro
alleges the conflict continued backstage, where he says Farrell punched him in
the face. Navarro described the incident as especially traumatic due to a prior
violent experience in his teenage years.
According to the lawsuit, tensions had been rising before
the fight, with Farrell reportedly threatening to quit the band multiple times.
Navarro also claims Farrell persuaded him to postpone his wedding in Scotland
to accommodate additional tour dates.
Farrell’s wife, Etty, stated shortly after the incident that
Farrell was scheduled for consultations with a neurologist and an ear, nose,
and throat specialist.
In addition to assault and battery claims by Navarro, all
three band members are suing for emotional distress, negligence, breach of
contract, and other claims, seeking a minimum of $10 million in damages.
