Tuesday, July 29, 2025 - Veteran entertainer and human rights activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has described the renaming the popular Charly Boy Bus Stop in Bariga after renowned hip-hop artist, Olamide Adedeji, aka Olamide Badoo, by the Bariga Local Council Development Area, Lagos State, as a “little silly and petty.”
The Bariga LCDA chairman last Friday announced the change in
name. He argued that streets in the area will henceforth reflect the names of
indigenes from the area doing phenomenal things locally and internationally.
Reacting via an interview with News Central today July 28,
Charly Boy said
‘’The fact
that my bus stop was renamed is neither here nor there. Whatever we can do to
help Nigerians, this is what it is about. I just believe that was a little bit
silly, a little bit petty because if it is about talking about what one has
done for that community, go and verify, you can't touch my records''
