Tuesday, July 8, 2025 - A Nigerian businessman, James Omeiza, has addressed women who are dating or married to unromantic men whose mindset is shaped by their poor background.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, he said many men who came out
of poverty have difficulty expressing love or giving flowers and other
traditional romantic gestures hence it's important to approach the situation
with understanding, empathy and willingness to help the person evolve.
He wrote…
“A very important announcement to all the Omalichas and
Olomoges in the building, gather here, make I yarn you one thing wey fit save
your heart from premium tears,” he wrote.
Let me gist you about the kind of man you might be falling
head over heels for, because love no dey look face, but e dey enter trap
sometimes.
Men who crawled out of the trenches of poverty, who fought
battles just to break the cycle, don’t always come out holding flowers and
whispering sweet romantic songs to you.
Celine Dion or West life love songs no dey move them. Let
this be known.
Sis, before you report him to the marriage committee, his
pastor or start complaining that “money isn’t everything” and you want more
romance, remember: struggle doesn’t just drain a man's pockets, it can dry up
the emotional sauce too.
He may not write love poems, but his hustle is his love language. Learn to see the romance in his sacrifice. Love him for who he is, and help him evolve, not resent.
