Monday, July 21, 2025 - The Kano state Judicial Service Commission, JSC, has sanctioned two judiciary staff over separate cases of gross misconduct.
This was announced in a statement issued on Sunday by Baba
Jibo Ibrahim, spokesperson for the Kano state judiciary, following the
commission’s 84th meeting held on Friday, 18th July 2025.
One of the sanctioned officials, Adamu Salisu, a registrar
attached to the High Court, was found guilty of falsifying affidavits, forging
a bailiff’s signature, and unlawfully signing documents as a Commissioner for
Oaths following investigation by the Kano state public complaints and
anti-corruption commission.
“Upon admitting guilt before the Commission, Salisu was
demoted from Grade Level 13 to 12, removed from his position as Registrar, and
issued a stern warning.” The statement revealed.
In a separate case, Yusuf Ayuba, a Clerical Assistant at
High Court No. 8, Miller Road, was demoted from Grade Level 5 to 4 after an
investigation by the Judiciary Public Complaints Committee (JPCC) found he had
absconded from his duty post for four months without justification.
“These measures are intended to serve as a deterrent and
address growing concerns about absenteeism and ethical breaches,” Jibo stated,
emphasizing the commission’s zero tolerance for indiscipline across all
judicial cadres.
