Monday, June 23, 2025 - Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is scheduled to hold a crucial stakeholders’ parley with leaders, elected and appointed officials, and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) vying for chairmanship positions in the forthcoming July 12, 2025, local council elections.
The meeting, slated for tomorrow, June 24, 2025, at the
State House, Marina, at noon, aims to rally party stalwarts towards a decisive
victory in the elections.
According to a statement by the Lagos APC Spokesperson, Seye
Oladejo, the “strategic” gathering will serve as a platform for mobilisation
and galvanisation of support for the party’s candidates.
He stated that the party’s confidence in securing a
landslide victory is rooted in the trust and confidence that residents of the
state have reposed in the party’s progressive philosophy, adding that the
party’s unparalleled growth across all sectors in the state has been
unprecedented, and the landmark achievements of the councils in education,
primary healthcare, housing, and social interventions are expected to be
rewarded with massive votes at the polls.
MEANWHILE, in what promises to be a watershed moment for
African manufacturing, Yikodeen, a West Africa’s largest footwear factory, will
officially unveil its expanded production facility tomorrow, marking Nigeria’s
boldest leap into world-class industrial manufacturing.
The highly anticipated re-commissioning ceremony will be
presided by Sanwo-Olu.
The unveiling will showcase a 120,000-square-foot
technological marvel engineered to produce 5,000 pairs daily, while providing
employment for over 350 skilled Nigerian professionals.
This represents a dramatic evolution from the firm’s humble
beginnings in 2016, when the company produced just 20 pairs daily, to its
current position as West Africa’s leading footwear manufacturer.
Other dignitaries expected at the event include Ooni of Ife,
Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, and the
Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Felix Omatsola Ogbe, all serving as special
guests of honour.
According to the firm, Chairman of Yikodeen’s Board of
Directors, Ajibola Akindele, as chief host, will welcome the dignitaries
alongside prominent members of Nigeria’s business community and key industry
stakeholders.
