Monday, June 2, 2025 - An inmate who who escaped from the Orleans Justice Center on May 16, along with nine other inmates, has appeared online to plead his case and deny allegations related to his arrest and escape.
In the video, Antoine Massey said he is "one of the
ones that was let out of OJC." He also sought help from rappers Meek Mill,
Lil Wayne, and NBA YoungBoy, as well as President Donald Trump.
At one point, the man says, “Who I was in the past is not
who I am today,” while denying allegations that he threatened a
maintenance worker with a weapon and called the jail system “corrupted,”
referencing both OJC and St. Tammany Parish jails.
Massey claims the domestic abuse battery charge that kept
him in jail was based on a false report from a jealous girlfriend.
He also displayed what he claims are affidavits, stating,
“This is the affidavits on a date right here.”
The escaped prison also accused the State of Louisiana of
corruption, arguing he was being unfairly prosecuted and mistreated behind
bars.
Massey claimed he was facing life in prison for charges he
did not deserve and alleged his decision to leave jail was about escaping an
unjust situation.
Massey is one of ten inmates who escaped from the Orleans
Justice Center on May 16.
Massey and fellow escapee Derrick Groves are the last two
inmates still on the run from the group of 10 who broke out of the jail in the
early hours of May 16. Authorities have since recaptured eight of the escapees
and arrested more than a dozen people accused of helping them
There is a $50,000 reward for tips leading to the capture of
Groves and Massey.
