Tuesday, June 17, 2025 -A second Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London has been cancelled due to a technical glitch, just days after Flight AI171 crashed shortly after take-off, k!lling 241 people on board.
Air India Flight AI159 was suspended on Tuesday, June 17,
due to technical issues after arriving from New Delhi, CNN News18 reported
this morning.
The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, was scheduled to depart at 1:10
pm but was grounded hours before takeoff after the issue was detected.
It is learnt that the glitch was identified during routine
checks, averting a potential disaster and ensuring the safety of hundreds of
passengers. However, the last-minute cancellation left several London-bound
travellers stranded at the airport, causing significant inconvenience.
Meanwhile, authorities continue efforts to identify victims
from the deadliest Indian air crash in three decades. DNA matching has
confirmed 119 identities, while 76 families, including that of former Gujarat
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, have received their loved ones’ remains.
The ill-fated Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner AI171, which crashed
into buildings near BJ Medical College, remains the centre of investigation as
aviation safety concerns mount.
