Tuesday, June 10, 2025 - The Las Vegas Strip turned deadly on Sunday, June 8, when a gunman opened fire outside the Bellagio Hotel, killing two people in a brazen attack that unfolded in front of horrified tourists, and was partially live-streamed on YouTube.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department,
officers responded to reports of gunfire and found two victims with gunshot
wounds. Despite providing immediate medical assistance, both individuals were
pronounced dead at the scene.
Footage captured during the incident shows unsuspecting
tourists strolling along the Strip moments before chaos erupted. In the video,
a man is seen laughing into a camera before suddenly reacting to something
off-screen and fleeing. Another man then appears, aims a gun, and fires
multiple shots. Screams follow as bystanders scramble for safety. A woman’s
voice is heard yelling, “Are you f***ing kidding me?!”
The shooting has left the city shaken, particularly because
of its public nature and the fact that it was broadcast live on a popular
YouTube channel. A separate clip also shows police officers attempting to
resuscitate one of the victims on the pavement outside the hotel.
Authorities say the suspect and the victims were known to
each other and that a dispute, reportedly fueled by an argument on social
media, may have led to the confrontation. The identity of the suspect has not
yet been released, and investigators are actively working to track him down.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is urging anyone with information or additional footage to come forward as the investigation continues.
