Tuesday, June 10, 2025 - The Kaduna State Police Command has said that 13 suspects have been arrested in Kawo area of Kaduna State after a naval officer, Lt. Commodore M. Buba, was murd£red by a suspected phone snatcher on Sunday, June 8.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan,
said that the late officer, who was a senior course student of the Armed Forces
Command and Staff College, Jaji, was attacked and stabbed on the chest with a
knife at a bus stop before Kawo flyover at about 5:20am on Sunday.
According to the police, the senior officer had a flat tyre while on his way
from Jaji, and as he alighted from his car trying to change the flat tyre, the
unknown assailant suddenly appeared and demanded that he hand over his mobile
phone.
When the officer refused, the assailant stabbed him on the
chest with a local knife.
The police also said that the assailant was subsequently
overpowered and mobbed by nearby people who also k!lled him on the spot, while
the wounded senior officer was rushed to Manaal Hospital, but was confirmed
de@d on arrival.
Following the incident, police said that its operatives
carried a raid in the Kawo area and arrested 13 suspects with knives and other
dangerous weapons.
