Saturday, May 10, 2025 - The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has paid a condolence visit to Governor Mai Mala Buni and the people of Yobe State following the recent deadly Boko Haram attack in Gujba Local Government Area.
Dr. Ganduje, who led a high-powered delegation to the state,
expressed deep sympathy with the victims and reiterated the party’s unwavering
support during what he described as a difficult period for the state.
He commended Governor Buni’s resilience in sustaining peace
and development despite recurring security threats.
“The APC stands in full solidarity with Yobe State,” Ganduje
stated. “We recognize the governor’s steadfastness in ensuring governance
continues, even in the face of adversity.
The federal government and the party remain committed to
supporting efforts to end insurgency and rebuild affected communities.”
Responding, Governor Buni thanked the APC chairman for the
visit, describing it as a morale booster for the government and the people.
“This visit is not only symbolic, it is reassuring,” Buni
said.
“We will continue to collaborate with security agencies and
other stakeholders to ensure peace is restored and sustained in all parts of
Yobe.”
The Boko Haram insurgency, which has plagued northeastern
Nigeria for over a decade, recently claimed lives and displaced residents in
Gujba, reigniting concerns about the region’s fragile security.
