Tuesday, May 13, 2025 - A Nigerian woman, Buithat Hudu Muhammad Lawal, has revealed that she sought her husband's permission before embarking on a work trip, adding that she would have obeyed him if he had told her not to go.
The Biochemist, who shared this in a Facebook post on
Monday, emphasized the importance of submission in marriage as a sign of
respect, love and not weakness.
“Last week,
I went on a six-day field trip to Enugu,” she wrote.
Before setting out, I sought my husband's permission and gave
him clear, thoughtful reasons for the trip.
Not because I'm weak or he's controlling, but because I deeply
respect the man he is. His wisdom, judgment, and foresight are qualities I
don't take for granted.
Had he said, “Don’t go,” I would have honored that, out of
love and respect, not fear.
I’m truly grateful to him for supporting me and giving me the
freedom to spread my wings.
Submission is not weakness.
