Tuesday, May 20, 2025 - Skai Jackson has reportedly filed a restraining order against the father of her three-month-old son, Kasai.
In court documents obtained by TMZ, Jackson, 23, alleged
that her ex, Deondre Burgin, has been physically abusive for more than a year,
with the most recent incident allegedly taking place on Mother’s Day, May
12.
Skai says the May 12 altercation escalated as she was
holding their infant son. She alleges that Burgin grabbed her by the hair,
slammed her head against a car window, and punched her in the face—all while
she was cradling their baby.
The former Disney child actress also detailed a troubling
history of alleged abuse spanning six months in 2024. During that time, she
says Burgin attacked her weekly, including choking, scratching, and slamming
her head into a wall. She also accuses him of damaging her personal belongings,
including a television and her iPhone.
The court filings also contain disturbing claims about
incidents that occurred while she was pregnant. Skai says Burgin once demanded
she drink bleach in an attempt to terminate her pregnancy. She also claims he
held her at knifepoint, threatening to stab her in the stomach if she called
for help.
Skai alleges that in another incident last summer, she
locked herself in a bathroom to get away from him, but Burgin punched through
the door, dragged her out, slammed her against the wall, and choked her until
she couldn’t breathe. She says she has video evidence of this attack.
At the time of Kasai’s birth in January, Burgin was serving
a 90-day jail sentence for a parole violation. He was arrested again last month
on an outstanding warrant.
Skai says she fears for her safety and the safety of her
child. She told the court that Burgin owns three firearms, including a rifle,
and is asking for a restraining order that would require him to stay at least
100 yards away from her, Kasai, and her dog.
In addition to protection, Skai is requesting legal child
support arrangements and for Burgin to pay her attorney fees. She’s also asking
that he be ordered to complete a domestic violence treatment program.
