“If it were the other way round, human rights all over the world would have risen in anger”- SHEHU SANI reacts to video of President MACRON’s wife shoving his face

Wednesday, May 28, 2025 - Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to the recent video of French President, Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte. 

The viral video showed the French first lady shoving her husband's face as they were about disembark from the Presidential aircraft in northern Vietnamese city late on Sunday, May 25.

Macron appeared surprised but quickly regained his composure and waves to the press outside. 

Speaking to reporters in Hanoi on Monday, Macron addressed the clip directly, pushing back against the speculation it sparked that his wife physically assaults him.

“There’s a video showing me joking and teasing my wife and somehow that becomes a sort of geo-planetary catastrophe, with people even coming up with theories to explain it,” the president said

In a post shared on his X handle, Sani argued that the actions of the first lady in the video is now being tagged as a joke but that if it were the other way round, Human rights groups around the world would have risen in anger and embarked on protests against gender violence.
