Tuesday, May 6, 2025 - A 29-year-old special constabulary officer was abducted by armed men during a routine surveillance patrol in the Tafida/Nalado area of Nariya, located in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Sunday,
May 4, when the patrol team came under sudden and heavy gunfire from the
assailants. According to sources who spoke with Zagazola Makama, the operatives
engaged the attackers in a fierce gun battle.
During the exchange, one officer—identified as PC-SC
Mohammed Ali—was overpowered and forcefully taken by the gunmen to an unknown
location. In addition to abducting the officer, the assailants also made away
with his Jincheng 110 model motorcycle.
In response to the attack, a combined team of security
personnel, including operatives from sister agencies, was swiftly mobilized to
the area. A coordinated search and rescue operation is currently underway to
locate and rescue the abducted officer.
The incident adds to growing concerns over the safety of
security operatives and residents in Kaduna State amid persistent threats from
criminal groups.
