Thursday, May 8, 2025 - Seven kidnapped victims remain in captivity in Kwara State despite the delivery of the N14 million ransom demanded by their abductors on Tuesday.
The victims were abducted recently, along with their driver,
while travelling from Abuja to Offa in a Sienna bus bearing registration number
FFA 50XD, operated by the Offa-based transport company, Olumoh Express.
In addition to the N14 million ransom, a bag of rice, twelve
chickens, and mobile phone recharge cards were also delivered to the
kidnappers’ den on Tuesday, according to impeccable sources who confirmed the
development.
The abduction occurred on Friday, 25 April 2025, at
approximately 5:45 pm, at Eleyin village via Isanlu-Isin in the Kwara South
Senatorial District, while the victims were en route from Abuja to Offa.
Two children who were in the vehicle at the time were left
behind and later rescued by the police, while the remaining seven individuals
were taken away by the assailants, and their whereabouts remain unknown.
Efforts to contact the spokesperson for the state police
command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, in Ilorin on Wednesday were unsuccessful.
