Tuesday, April 8, 2025 - Spanish club, Valencia are set to convince Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar to make a permanent move to Mestalla following his impressive performance.
Sadiq joined Valencia on loan from Real Sociedad in January
and has become a mainstay in coach manager Carlos Corberán’s system with four
goals in 10 games.
The Nigerian forward played a pivotal role over the weekend
as Valencia stunned Real Madrid 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu their first win at
the stadium in 17 years.
Impressed by Sadiq’s performances, Valencia has reportedly
begun moves to tie the player down permanently.
According to a report by Spanish publication, Todofichajes,
Valencia believes they must convince the Nigerian to stay despite having an
option to buy in their loan deal.
“The Nigerian striker, who has fit well into the scheme of
Carlos Corberán, has shown an increasingly competitive version in recent days,
which has aroused the club’s interest in keeping him in the staff next season,”
the report read.
“Although there is a purchase option in the transfer
agreement, Valencia consider it essential to convince the footballer of the
project before advancing in any kind of formal negotiation with the donostiarra
group.
“The sports management understands that Sadiq needs to feel
important and with continuity, something he has begun to experience in recent
weeks thanks to his progression in the team.
In addition to sporting, the club also wants to strengthen
the personal bond with the player, showing him that in Mestalla he can find
stability, minutes and an ideal environment to relaunch his career. The
technical body values its physical profile and ability to fix defences,
something that does not abound in the current template.”
