Friday, April 18, 2025 - The Presidency has announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains fully engaged in the governance of Nigeria, despite currently being in Europe.
According to the Special Adviser on Information and
Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s absence is temporary and aligns with
the earlier communicated timeframe of approximately two weeks. He confirmed
that Tinubu will return after the Easter holiday.
This comes amid criticism that the president is on holiday abroad while bandits terrorise Borno ,Zamfara , and Plateau states in recent attacks
In a
statement, Onanuga said:
“The President left Paris for London at the weekend and has maintained constant
communication with key government officials, overseeing critical national
matters. This includes giving directives to security chiefs to tackle emerging
threats in parts of the country.
“His return
to Abuja and resumption of duties at the Aso Villa will follow the conclusion
of the Easter holiday. The President’s commitment to his duties remains
unwavering, and his administration continues to function effectively under his
leadership.
