“It is with deep sorrow and outrage that the International
Human Rights Commission (IHRC), Niger State Office, condemns in the strongest
terms the brutal and senseless k!lling of Mr. Mohammed, popularly known as
Amore, by suspected thugs (Yan Sara Suka) in the Fadikpe area of Minna on the
night of 20th, April 2025,” the statement read.
"Mr. Mohammed, a respected resident and peace-loving
member of the community, was known for his consistent efforts in supporting
local peace and security initiatives. He lost his life while volunteering
alongside other community members to disperse a gang of miscreants whose
presence had become a serious threat to the safety and stability of the
neighborhood. His tragic death is not only a loss to his immediate family but
to the entire community and state.
"The IHRC extends its heartfelt condolences to the
family of the deceased, friends, and the Fadikpe community. We mourn with you
and pray that Almighty God grants him eternal rest and gives his family the
strength to bear this painful loss.
"We are calling on the Nigeria Police Force, Niger
State Command, and other relevant security agencies to urgently investigate
this heinous crime and bring the perpetrators to justice without delay.
"No community can thrive under the shadow of fear,
violence, and impunity. The safety and rights of every citizen must be
protected at all times. Political leaders both elected and appointed at all
levels must rise up to protect the sanctity of human lives.
“The IHRC will continue to monitor the situation closely and
stand in solidarity with the people of Fadikpe and the entire Minna metropolis
in the fight against thuggery and all forms of insecurity.”
