Monday, April 7, 2025 - The Senior Special Assistant on Civil Society and Youth Mobilisation to the Delta State Governor, Harrison Gwamnishu, has hit back at those criticising him for speaking out about the rise in kidnapping in his community despite being a government appointee.
The human
rights activist has been lamenting the rise in kidnapping in some parts of the
state allegedly perpetrated by some Fulani herders.
Gwamnishu
stated this in a Facebook post on Monday, April 7, after kidnappers abducted
two persons along the Issele-Uku expressway.
According
to him, the victims, an airport driver and his passenger, were abducted between
6 - 7pm on Sunday.
"Yes,
I am a Government Appointee. If you come and tell me to stop posting about this
Kidnapping happening around my community because I'm part of the Government.
Thunder from Abatete will fire you. Some of us are with the Government to
HELP," he wrote.
