Saturday, April 12, 2025 - The Katsina State Police Command, in collaboration with the military, Department of State Services (DSS), Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), and local vigilantes, has successfully neutralized five suspected bandits and arrested three individuals suspected of being informants during coordinated security operations.
According to DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, Police Public
Relations Officer (PPRO), the operations took place on April 10, 2025, in the
Dandume and Danmusa local government areas of Katsina State.
The operations followed credible intelligence, leading to an
ambush on bandits at Dutsen Wori Village at around 4:15 a.m.
During the operation, five armed bandits were killed, and
seven motorcycles, four Honda cars, and three Boxer motorcycles, believed to
have been used in criminal activities, were recovered.
Later that morning, another operation took place in Unguwar
Adam and Unguwar Judo villages of Danmusa LGA. Here, a gun duel broke out,
resulting in the dislodging of the bandits.
Three informants, allegedly providing logistical support to
the bandits, were arrested, and two motorcycles and two bicycles were seized.
The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Bello
Shehu, commended the operatives for their professionalism and coordination,
affirming the commitment to restoring peace and security in the state.
He urged the public to continue sharing timely and credible
information with security agencies, emphasizing the importance of swift
responses in the fight against banditry.
