Sunday, March 16, 2025 - Assistant Secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) for the South-East zone, Rev. Blessed Amalambu has condemned Anambra State government’s recent ban on public preaching of the gospel.
He described the policy, introduced by Anambra State Governor, Prof
Chukwuma Soludo, as misguided.
According to reports, the ban which was aimed at controlling noise
pollution, mandates heavy fines for any defaulter.
But reacting to the development, South East Zonal Secretary of PFN, Rev.
Blessed Amalambu, said “Christians will not sit idly by as someone tries to
stifle what God has established”.
He urged Soludo, a fellow Christian, to rethink his stance on the
matter.
According to Amalambu, Governor Soludo should consult legal experts to
analyze the sensitivity of the policy so as not to infringe on the rights of
Christians.
Amalambu also called for the amendment of the 1999 Constitution to
ensure equal representation for all faiths.
He urged the governor to allow free preaching of the gospel in the
public for the benefit of those who did not attend church.
