Tuesday, March 11, 2025 - Activist and Vice-Presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the 2019 presidential election, Umma Getso, says that sometimes women falsely accuse men of s3xual harassment for political interest.
Getso shared this opinion while speaking on Channels TV on Monday, March
10, while reacting to the sexual harassment allegation Kogi Central Senator
Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan leveled against Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
“Let there be justice. Let women be treated right wherever they
are but I am very sorry to say this to a lot of women: I’ve worked with a lot
of men, national and internationally, different caliber.
When I hear women say I am sexually harassed, there is a lot of
definition to that or we need to redefine what sexual harassment is.
We have seen it in a lot of places in the world, not only in Nigeria,
whereby women took advantage of them being women and raise such kind of
accusation for other personal interest.
If a lady sitting in the Senate, being in that position, is now crying
of being sexually harassed by a man. I know a lot of men that are allowing
their women to come into the political game will be a little bit scared.”she
