Thursday, March 6, 2025 - Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed 12 vigilante members in a community Bukkuyum LGA of Zamfara State.
A villager, Nasiru Abubakar reported that the attack took place at about
9:00 am on Wednesday.
Abubakar said that the local vigilante in the area were notified of an
attack by the bandits and they mobilize and confronted the gunmen in a bid to
rescue abducted members of the community.
He explained that the bandits however laid ambush for the vigilante
operatives and killed 12 of them while nine others sustained various degrees of
injuries.
Zamfara State Police Command’s spokesman,is yet to comment on the report.
