Sunday, March 30, 2025 - The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), under the leadership of its President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has declared Sunday, today, as the first of Shawwal and Eid day, which marks the completion of the 2025 Ramadan fast.
Sa’ad Abubakar disclosed this during a live broadcast on
Saturday night.
“Today, the 29th day of March 2025 AD, equivalent to the
29th day of Ramadan, 1446, after the hijrah of our most noble leader, Prophet
Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, brings us to the end of the 1446 Ramadan
fast.
“Therefore, tomorrow, 30th March 2025, makes it 1st Shawwal
1446 AH and also the Eid-el-Fitr day,” the Sultan said.
He called for prayer answers for all the petitions of
Muslims during the month of Ramadan.
The Sultan urged Muslims to continue to imbibe the spirit of
love and peace.
“As we witness the month of Ramadan, and it has come and
gone today, may He, in His infinite mercy, grant us many, many more years of
witnessing many, many months of Ramadan to continue to worship Him in the best
way possible.
“May He grant us all our wishes; may He bring peace and
stability to our great country, Nigeria. May our leaders fear Almighty Allah
always and serve Him through serving our people.
“We also ask all Muslims, wherever we are, to continue to
live in peace with one another, to pray for our leaders, for you to be the best
you can be, and for all the relations of Almighty Allah that He put us together
in this blessed country, Nigeria,” he said.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had earlier declared
Sunday as the first of Shawwal and Eid day.
