Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer SP William Ovye Aya disclosed
this in a statement on Tuesday.
Aya stated that the cheques were presented to the bereaved families as
part of the ongoing commitment of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode
Adeolu Egbetokun, and the Police Force Welfare Scheme to provide financial
support and relief to the families of officers who have lost their lives in the
line of duty.
“This initiative is aimed at ensuring that the families of fallen heroes
are not left behind and helping them cope with the financial burdens that often
arise in the wake of such unfortunate events,” the statement added.
The police spokesperson explained that the presentation ceremony was
attended by senior police officers from the Kogi State Police Command, along
with the bereaved families, who expressed their gratitude for the gesture. They
noted that the support provides not only financial relief but also a sense of
security during a difficult time.
According to the statement: “The Kogi State Police Command reiterates
its commitment to the welfare of officers and their families. Through the Group
