Tuesday, March 25, 2025 - The Niger State Police Command has arrested one Mubarak, suspected to be mentally unstable for stabbing a 25-year-old man, Shamseen Danshehu, to d3ath.
The incident took place on Sunday evening, March 23, 2024 in the
Kwangila area of Minna when Mubarak was said to have engaged Danshehu in fisticuffs
during which he allegedly stabbed him in the chest.
He was rushed to the nearby Minna General hospital where he was
confirmed d3ad on arrival.
The residents who said they did not know what caused the fight, however,
said they always saw Mubarak in the street moving from place-to-place
scavenging in residents’ refuse containers.
Spokesperson
of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed the incident to Punch on Monday,
said that the suspect was arrested .
“It was reported that one Mubarak, who is suspected of insanity and also
scavenging around Kwangila, had a fight with a passerby, Shamsu Danshehu 25
years of the same area. During the fight, the said scavenger stabbed Shamsu on
the chest with scissors,” the PPRO stated.
“The victim was rushed to the general hospital but gave up the ghost in
the hospital and confirmed d3ad. The suspect was arrested for further
investigation,” Abiodun said.
