Monday, February 24, 2025 - Justin Bieber has dismissed recent speculation that he is using hard drugs, insisting he is simply enjoying life.
A representative for the singer told TMZ that the recurring narrative
about Bieber’s alleged drug use is entirely false. Instead, they stated that he
is in a positive place—focused on parenting his newborn son with his wife
Hailey, working on new music, and looking forward to his 31st birthday later
this week.
“The past year has been very transformative for him as he ended several
close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him,” the
rep said.
Bieber's priorities, according to the representative, are centred on
supporting his family, maintaining his health, and creating music. The rep
criticized the ongoing speculation about Bieber’s mental and physical
well-being, calling it “exhausting and pitiful,” adding that people seem
determined to push negative narratives despite the truth.
The singer recently faced scrutiny after being photographed in New York
earlier this month with red eyes and dark circles, leading to online
speculation about drug use. However, sources close to Bieber told TMZ that he
had been recording music all night and lacked sleep, which contributed to his
appearance. Additionally, he had spent part of the evening caring for his son,
who was having trouble sleeping.
A video of Bieber interacting with a fan at a Rhode pop-up event in Los
Angeles last Thursday also fueled speculation, with some social media users
claiming he appeared to be under the influence. However, sources insist Bieber
was not high, but rather having a lighthearted moment with a fan while
supporting Hailey’s event.
Critics have pointed to Bieber’s past struggles with substance abuse as
a reason for their concern. The singer has been open about experimenting with
marijuana at a young age and later using stronger drugs, revealing that his
security team would sometimes check his pulse at night.
However, Bieber has been sober since 2014 and, while he occasionally
drinks alcohol socially, he no longer uses prescription pills or other
substances. The singer appears to be in a stable place in his life and is
frustrated with the ongoing speculation about his health.
