Government, in collaboration with NAPTIP and the Ministry of Women Affairs, has
rescued 13-year-old Rahama Sanusi from a suspected human trafficker.
While receiving the girl on Tuesday, February 26, 2025, the Commissioner
for Women Affairs, Hadiza Yar’adua, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to
working with UNICEF, NAPTIP, and other agencies to combat child trafficking and
the issue of out-of-school children.

not to overly depend on relatives for child upbringing.
Rahama had been in Kano under the care of her late mother’s sister
before being trafficked to Benue State.
