Tuesday, January 7, 2025 - The Niger State Police Command has arrested the killer of 20-year-old Abdulrahman Isah, a motorcyclist from Pyata village, Maitumbi, a suburb of Minna, the state capital.
Police Public Relations Officer SP Wasiu Abiodun said the devastating
incident occurred on January 2, 2025, at approximately 2 pm, when a distress
call reported a lifeless body found along the Pyata-Maitumbi Bye-Pass area of
Bosso.
According to him, the police swiftly responded to the scene, where they
discovered the body of 20-year-old Abdulrahman Isah, a motorcyclist from Pyata
village, lying in a pool of blood. The corpse was evacuated to a nearby
hospital morgue.
He stated that during the investigation, Abubakar Sadiq, a resident of
the same village, was arrested in connection with the crime.
“He (the suspect) confessed to the crime, stating that he boarded the
motorcycle from Berger Junction Bosso to Maitumbi. He further explained that
while on their way, he deceived the rider and diverted him to follow a lonely
path along the Pyata-Maitumbi Bye-Pass Road, where he used a stone to hit the
rider on the head,” the police spokesperson stated.
After the rider became unconscious, Sadiq allegedly took the motorcycle
to Beji market and gave it to Ibrahim Garba, 35, of Kuyi village, Bosso, who
sold it for N310,000 to one Bala Usman of Wushishi.
Both Garba and Usman were also arrested, and N300,000 was recovered from
them.
The suspects are currently undergoing preliminary investigations and
will soon be transferred to SCID Minna for further investigation and
prosecution.
