Thursday, January 23, 2025 - The Jigawa State Government has revealed that properties worth N5 billion were destroyed during the nationwide "End Bad Governance" protests in August 2024.

Fanini, disclosed this while presenting the committee’s report to Governor Umar
Namadi at the Council Chambers of the Government House in Dutse on Tuesday
night, Jan. 21.
Fanini, who is also the state’s Commissioner for Justice, revealed that
the damaged properties included assets owned by the federal, state, and local
governments, as well as private individuals.
He added that the committee had provided a series of recommendations
aimed at preventing similar occurrences in the future.
In response, Governor Namadi commended the committee for their
dedication and assured them that the government would thoroughly review and
implement their suggestions.
