Sunday, January 12, 2025 - The All Progressive Congress, APC, has said that it will take over the leadership of Abia State in 2027, with a promise to provide more democracy dividends for the Abia people.
The Chairman of APC in Abia, Kingsley Ononogbu stated this at Abiriba
Stadium in Abiriba, Ohafia LGA of Abia State on Friday while receiving a former
prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kelvin Jombo Onumah who
defected to the APC his supporters.
The Abia State APC Chairman said that his party will count on the
achievements recorded by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in the Senate, Deputy Speaker,
Benjamin Kalu in the House of Representatives and the Minister of State for
Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha to win available seats in the State,
in 2027 elections.
He noted that his party, having corrected every mistake that prevented
it from winning the State during the 2023 polls, is now more united and
prepared to rule the State in 2027.
“We expect that if we take over Abia State in 2027, you will see more
actions, verifiable actions,” he said.
Ononogbu who presented the APC flag to Kelvin Jombo, said that the
former PDP member made the right choice by joining the APC.
In his speech, the new APC member, Jombo, said he joined the party to
attract development to his people of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal constituency, as
well as Abia North at large and to add value to the APC.
Also speaking at the event, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu reiterated his

programs, saying that Nigerians will overcome the present hardship and hunger
in the country.
Kalu said that that his party remained the largest party in the country,
caling for fair reportage of APC’s achievements.
However, the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abraham Amah in

to the amazement of naysayers and detractors.”
