Friday, December 27, 2024 - The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has said that tracking of lost items by any police division is free to all.
Adejobi stated this while responding to users
on X.
A Nigerian had mentioned that he lost his phone two
years ago somewhere in Ibadan, Ogun state and had visited the police who told
him he had to pay N60,000 for them to track the phone and help retrieve it. He
said he had to forego the phone as he did not have such an amount of money to
give to the police.
Responding, Adejobi said the police headquarters has a department that helps in tracking lost items and their services are free. He however mentioned that Nigerians would only have to be patient with the department as their workload is usually heavy. He also responded to other Nigerians who stated that they paid money to get their items recovered.
