Friday, December 13, 2024 - Gov Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi has approved a Christmas bonus of ₦150,000 for each worker in the state.
This marks a significant increase from last year’s ₦100,000 bonus.
This announcement was confirmed in a Facebook post on Thursday by the Chief
Press Secretary to the Governor, Monday Uzor.
“Every worker in Ebonyi State service will
receive ₦150,000 as a Christmas Bonus before 1pm on Tuesday… Gov. Rt. Hon.
Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru,” the post read.
The bonus demonstrates Governor Nwifuru’s commitment to prioritizing
workers’ welfare, particularly during the festive season.
The announcement comes amid the state’s implementation of the new minimum wage act, which exceeds the federal benchmark of ₦70,000 with an additional ₦5,000 for Ebonyi workers.
