Wednesday, October 23, 2024 - Activist. Harrison Gwamnishu has reacted to the statement released by men of the FCT police command on the de@th of 24-year-old lady, Priscilla Ocheme.
Last weekend, Harrison came online to demand
justice for Priscilla on behalf of her bereaved family. According to her
family, Priscilla d!ed after leaving home to visit her boyfriend in the Lugbe
area of the state. The family say they suspect foul play as the police released
the suspect and granted him bail a few days after he was arrested.
The FCT police released a statement this
evening October 22, saying that a preliminary investigation showed that the
deceased d!ed in an accident after leaving her male friend, Ekhosuehi Iseh's
house.
‘’He was a well-known family friend who
frequently visited the deceased at her family home, just as she visited his. On
22 September 2024, she had a minor misunderstanding with her mother, which led
her to leave her family home in the Karu area and go to EKHOSUEHI’s residence
to cool off. She eventually left his residence later that evening and was on
her way home when she was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident at the AMALA
MOORE junction in Pyakasa. The accident was witnessed by two labourers, JERRY AMOS
and MOSES BALA, who were working nearby at a brick-producing factory. They
rushed her to Pyakasa Health Centre for medical attention, after which she was
referred to the Federal Medical Centre Jabi, accompanied by two police
detectives. Upon arrival at the medical centre, she was confirmed dead by the
doctor on duty.''
Reacting to the FCT command's account of
what transpired, Harrison asked for the whereabouts of the motorcycle riders
involved in the accident and the autopsy that was carried out on the deceased.
