Thursday, October 3, 2024 -Liverpool superstar, Mohamed Salah is now the highest-ever African goal scorer in the Champions League with 45 goals.
The 32-year-old Egyptian forward fired home
a goal in the 75th minute as Liverpool defeated Bologna on Wednesday, September
2.
Salah’s landmark goal came in style, as he helped Liverpool secure a vital
victory in their latest group-stage match.
Mohamed Salah's goal was his 45th in the
UEFA Champions League, making him the tournament's top African scorer. Ivory
Coast legend Didier Drogba sits second with 44 goals, while Cameroon hero
Samuel Eto'o holds third place with 35.
As reported by Squawka, Salah also broke further records, including becoming
the first Liverpool player to score in five consecutive Champions League games
at Anfield and becoming the first player to score and assist in nine Champions
League games for an English club.
