Friday,
October 18, 2024 - The 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour
Party, Peter Obi has disclosed that he has learnt to stop criticizing or
getting angry at Nigerians, especially Nigerian businesses.
The politician made this known on X while responding to a Nigerian
complaining about a 9-hour flight delay by Air Peace.
The X user with the handle Olajumoke Alawode~James wrote, “I was
waiting to land in Lagos before I cuss Air Peace for this 9 hour delay. But,
@PeterObi is on my flight. Let me respect our leader.”
In response, Peter Obi apologised on behalf of Air Peace, stating that
one does not blame business owners in Nigeria considering the harsh and
challenging environment they have to navigate.
He noted that the country’s situation demands that Nigerians always
apply caution as they try to understand each other’s circumstances.
He said, “Thank you, my dear @oluwaloninyo. Let me sincerely
apologize on their behalf. These days, I have learned to avoid criticizing or
getting easily annoyed with Nigerians and, in particular, Nigerian businesses,
given the harsh and difficult environment they have to navigate. The situation
in our country demands that we always apply caution as we try to understand
each other’s circumstances and factor them into our judgment of them. This
should act as a reminder that many are doing their best despite the challenging
circumstances and that patience and understanding can go a long way.”
