BOBRISKY was in jail, but enjoyed privileges– FG's Investigative panel says



Monday, October 21, 2024 -The investigative panel set up by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to probe the allegation that cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, spent his six-months jail term in a private apartment and not in a custodial center, has dismissed the claim.

Uju Agomoh who is the Executive Director and founder of Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Welfare Action (PRAWA) and who served as a member of the panel, stated that there was no evidence to support the claims that Bobrisky stayed outside the prison during his sentence, which lasted from April 12, 2024, to August 5, 2024.

She clarified that Bobrisky served his six-month correctional sentence with the usual remission applicable to such cases. She also mentioned that investigations showed that he received certain privileges during his time behind bars.

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, inaugurated the panel in Abuja on Monday, September 30 following the relesse of an audio by VDM where Bobrisky claimed to have served his sentence in a flat near the prison
