Saturday, September 14, 2024 -A storey building collapsed on Saturday morning, September 14, during heavy rainfall in Benin City, Edo State, trapping several students from the University of Benin (UNIBEN).
It was gathered that the incident occurred
on Ekhator Street, Ekosodin, an area known for housing students.
Some of the trapped occupants were rescued, however, many are still feared
trapped.
The injured victims rescued from the rubble
were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
A university rescue team is still searching for victims after hearing a cry for
help from under the debris.
