Saturday, September 7, 2024 -Jennifer Williams, star of "Basketball Wives," is facing a major hiccup in her wedding plans after her fiancé, Christian Gold, was sentenced to jail just a week before their scheduled nuptials.
Christian was taken into
custody on Friday morning in a DeKalb County courthouse, Georgia, for violating
his probation. The judge handed him a 15-day sentence, which must have come as
a shock for Jennifer, who was present in court supporting her soon-to-be
husband.
However, there’s some
relief for the couple. The judge showed leniency by allowing Christian to serve
only 2 days in jail for now, so he can be temporarily released in time to
attend their wedding in Paris, set for September 14. Despite the outcome, Jennifer
kept quiet outside the courthouse.
While their Paris wedding
is still on track, their post-nuptial plans have taken a hit. After the
ceremony, Christian will be required to return to DeKalb County to serve the
remaining 13 days of his sentence, leaving no room for a honeymoon.
Christian’s legal troubles
stem from a probation violation tied to a false imprisonment charge, for which
he served 30 months before being released in 2018. Recently, authorities say
Christian traveled outside the U.S. without notifying his probation officer,
visiting Italy and Switzerland with Jennifer in July. The violation was
reportedly discovered after their social media posts from the trip.
In addition to his travel
violation, Christian had also failed to pay $12,500 in restitution to his
victim, but he settled the amount during Friday’s court proceedings.
For now, Christian is
behind bars, while wedding preparations continue under these unexpected
circumstances.
