‘‘We can't apprehend all the criminals at once'' - ACP OLUMUYIWA ADEJOBI reacts to trending photo of bandits flaunting ill - gotten bundles of Naira notes

Sunday, August 11, 2024 - The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has reacted to photos of suspected bandits posing with bundles of Naira notes.

 A Tiktok video of suspected bandits flaunting money and doing giveaway made the rounds on social media.

 The photos and video prompted Nigerians on X to blast the police force for failing to arrest bandits showing off their ill-gotten wealth on social media. 

  An X user shared photos of the suspects and wrote;

‘’They are now posing  with the ransom money. Showing that they are balling''

 Reacting to the backlash, Adejobi stated that the police cannot arrest every criminal in the country. He said the force should be applauded for such. 

‘’We can't apprehend all the criminals at once. At least appreciate us for  the ones we have arrested. We arrest them on a daily basis, in large numbers. The armed forces and the police are trying their best. Efforts of security forces should be seen, noticed, and appreciated. We need to look towards having the collective efforts and individualistic involvement in  tackling insecurity and other vices in Nigeria. One thing is sure, mo criminal will go unpunished. Thanks.''
