Thursday, August 22, 2024 A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a dedicated member of the Operation Keep Taraba Clean initiative.
The victim identified as Mrs Nemiss Garba Usman, was crushed to
death by a vehicle while performing her duties along the Mile Six-axis in
Jalingo on Thursday morning, August 22, 2024.
Officials at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, said the 50-year-old
woman died instantly before she was rushed to the hospital.
Her remains were later evacuated to the hospital morgue
The deceased, a resident of Owoniyi Quarters in Jalingo, was known for
her commitment to maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of the state, her
colleagues stated.
The coordinator of Operation Keep Taraba Clean, Iliya Kefas, who
confirmed the incident assured that efforts are underway to track down the
fleeing driver.
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, Gambo Kwache, who also
confirmed the incident said that efforts are on to apprehend the driver
responsible for the accident.
