Friday, August 23, 2024-Two deadly dogs are on the run after at least one of them allegedly killed a man.
West Midlands Police has issued a
photo of one of the suspected killer dogs in an urgent appeal for their
capture.
A 33-year-old man was found dead in a
back garden in Rubery, about seven miles southwest of Birmingham City centre.
The body was found by officers in the early
hours of Thursday morning, August 22, and while two dogs were seized, police
believe there were two more involved but vanished before their arrival on the
scene.
House-to-house enquiries, CCTV,
specialist dog officers and drones are all being used to locate the dogs.
Birmingham Police X account posted:
"We’re urgently asking for help finding two dogs who we believe may have
been involved in an incident in which a man died in #Rubery. We were called to
Hereford Close in the early hours of yesterday to report that a number of dogs
were loose."
Inspector Leanne Chapman said:
"We really need to hear from anyone who has seen these dogs and it's vital
that if you see them, you don't approach them but call 999 immediately."
A post-mortem examination on the man
is being carried out today, August 23, to establish his cause of death.
