Saturday, July 13, 2024 -A budding singer, Benjamin Samuel, aka BJ Sam, recalls that while growing up in Ibadan, Oyo State, he had dreams to reach the world through his music, with people of all races, languages and nations enjoying his music.
Speaking on his latest project, Sam stated
that he was set to launch a new song and music video titled, ‘Mon amour’ (My
Love), he said, “The song is a beautiful melodically and rhythmic expression of
true love. It is a fusion of afrobeats, RnB and other genres to give every
listener a glimpse of true love.”
He also noted that music promotion is the
biggest challenge he is facing in his career. “The major challenge has been
inadequate promotion and marketing campaigns. However, some big music companies
have actually showed interest in purchasing my music. They said they will ‘step
in’ once my songs start enjoying massive streaming.”
Recalling the early days of his career, the
singer said, “I used to be a village boy, but everything turned around when I
was 15 years old. A young lady invited me to her, and that was where I gave my
life to Jesus Christ and had the privilege of joining their classical choir,
where I discovered my passion for music.”
According to him, that singular action
helped to harness his talent. He added, “Joining the choir, I realised that I
could become a beacon of light to the world through my music.”
