Saturday, June 29, 2024 -The Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection at the National Civil Aviation Authority NCAA, Michael Achimugu has warned Nigerians against coming to the airport late.
In a post shared on X, Achimugu said to
avoid any issues, passengers on a local flight are expected to be at the
airport two hours before their flight. He mentioned that if a passenger fails
to check in as when due, he or she is not entitled to a refund let alone
compensation.
He wrote
‘’There's this stubborn complainant...
Let me
just say this today:
An Air passenger has a responsibility to
arrive on time for check-in and boarding processes.
If you
arrive AFTER the check-in counter has closed, you are considered a NO-SHOW and
you are not entitled to a refund, not to talk of compensation
Aviation regulations are mostly global. It
is not a Nigerian thing. For local flights, be at the airport TWO HOURS before
departure.
"Why
should I come two hours before flight as if I don't have other things to
do?"
Ignorance is not an excuse.''
